Perhaps one of Clemens-Tobias Lange’s most elegant and heartfelt solo projects Nō IV – Sotoba Komachi is a Japanese Nō theatre play. Text by Kan’ami Kiyotsugu (観阿弥 清次) (1333-1384 AD) with the poetess Ono no Komachi (* ~ 825 AD). Endpaper-text by Zeami Motokiyo 世阿弥 元清 from The Secret Tradition of the Nō Game by Zeami Motokiyo 世阿弥 元清, b. 1363.
Booklyn has the very last available English/Japanese text version of this book, as well as the second-to-last copy of the version of the book which has a German text and a Japanese text (by Cho Sookok). The German/Japanese version of the book is accompanied by an elegant pamphlet with an English translation of the text (by Royall Tyler).
The images and Japanese texts are photogravures. The English and German texts are letter pressed.
A delicate and small edition of only 24 copies (12 of each variety) World Cat shows only two other copies in the American Hemisphere, Stanford University and Carlton College.
