Transform the World

To celebrate the creativity, growth, and future of the Trans formative Schools community, Booklyn is partnering with them to present a zine workshop series centered on the theme of transformation.
Zines are grassroots, handmade books—created by individuals using basic tools like paper, scissors, pens, and powerful ideas. They’re a way to tell personal and collective stories, explore ideas, and share knowledge from the ground up.
In this two-part series, Booklyn educators will teach two techniques: the one-page zine and the flag book. We’ll bring a wide variety of creative materials—rubber stamps, markers, stickers, collage materials, and decorative papers. For those who want a little structure, we’ll have ready-made zine templates available. Or feel free to go freestyle and make your own from scratch.
These are free, all-ages workshops facilitated by Booklyn educators in collaboration with Trans formative Schools and hosted at La Plaza Cultural Community Garden in the Lower East Side of NYC.
Sunday, June 1 & Sunday, June 81pm – 3pm
La Plaza Cultural Community Garden
674 E 9th St, NYC
No experience needed. No RSVP required. Just come as you are—all tools and materials will be provided.
