Community Flag-Making Workshop for Kids

Sat, November 17, 2018 • 4 – 6PM

140 58th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11220, USA

A drop-in workshop that invites kids to create flags that represent the world they want to live in. This free hands-on workshop is led by teaching artists Josh MacPhee & Monica Johnson. As inspiration, you’ll learn a bit about common flag symbols and the history of protest flags, as well as historic and cultural symbolism of colors, shapes, and icons. This is a fun activity using symbolism and conventions of the flag as a way to think about social change.

Children and families of all ages are encouraged to attend! RSVP not required, but helpful for us in estimating materials.
