Limited Edition Artists BooksIn 2012, the two decided Viennese artists Wolfgang Buchta and Konrad Planegger worked together on the BOOK OF JOB. The artists, both born in 1958, are avid printmakers.
The selected format 39 x 56 cm for the double-side leaves enough space for the graphics. – Originally, the graphics in black/white were planned.
Martin Luther’s translation in the edition of 1534 was handwritten by Wolfgang Buchta. The plates are made of etching and drypoint.
In September 2014 Konrad Planegger passed away unexpectedly. Throughout 2015, Buchta finished the project alone. After several months of work, the use of colors was needed that were printed from the lithographic stone.
The first seven copies were bound in 2016 completed by the bookbinder Brigitte Kozumplík as full vellum bindings and were presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
The text was printed in dark red, the images were printed in four colors.
The book has 64 pages in the format 39 x 29 cm and is held in a slipcase, which was designed and made for this book by the artist.
The edition includes 20 copies.
