Possibly the last available major large-format book by Tripp, this book is composed of both sketches and major collages, drawings, and paintings made from 1969 to 2018. It features core and deeply intimate auto-biographical texts that deal with BDT’s deep relationships with the Rock People, his psychic and spiritual identity, and his relationship with the land and the Karuk people.
The book is essentially a metaphor for the existential struggle of both the Karuk tribe and all Native Americans in the face of continuing socio-economic inequity, settler colonialism, racism, and climate catastrophe.
