SlapShot is a bound collection of Manhattan street photography. Criss-crossing the island on in-line hockey skates, Klatt catches dynamic moments of New Yorkers on the streets. The interplay of Klatt’s movement and the actions of the people whose motions his camera captures produces unique, colorful, and painterly cinematic portraits. All the work is executed after sundown, layering crisp, frozen images of flash-illuminated subjects on top of the streaked ambient glow of a New York City streetscape.
