Nicole has always been fascinated by bodies of water and anything having to do with marine life. So much so, that she’d re-watch her favorite shark V.H.S. over and over. It was in this V.H.S. that she discovered an ichthyologist (someone who studies fish) by the name of Eugenie Clark. Eugenie Clark is an inspiration for Nicole. She’s a reminder that being daughter of migrants–and after her father’s death, the daughter of a single mother–maybe her own passion for the ocean life is not so far fetched.
