Mariame Kaba’s work in The Mariame Kaba Zine Box Set 2024 is an educational resource for research about the carceral state, Black history, Black feminism, the Prison Industrial Complex abolition and racialized gender violence. The zines include archival research by Mariame Kaba and collaborators, tools for organizing, and/or deeper perspectives of themes activated by essays, poetry, and art.

Included in the colophon is an introduction from Mariame Kaba, in which she frames the work within her long history as a zinester and activist.

Mariame Kaba is an organizer, educator, archivist, curator and zinester. She is currently the co-founder and co-principal of Interrupting Criminalization, the founder of Project NIA which sunsetted at the end of 2023, founder of Sojourners for Justice Press, member and co-founder of We Charge Genocide, co-founder of Chicago Freedom School, author of countless books, zines and ephemera, including the 2021 NY Times bestselling book, We Do This Til We Free Us: Abolitionist Organizing and Transforming Justice, and the 2023 book Let This Radicalize You: Organizing and the Revolution of Reciprocal Care.
