Love letter II, perhaps one of the best examples of how Khan uses the most obvious and simple of aesthetic structures and symbols and completely complicates and problematizes their simplicity and innocence. She obliterates any possibility of naive or innocent readings of her compositions. Letters become bloodstains, bloodstains become letters, blood coalesces into clots, menses, organs, that demand some kind of hepatomantic divination.

Text within the book:

How silent was that night

How deep

Like those magical eyes

I went astray to the sound of a dead heart

Someone is calling still

From that forgotten evening of my childhood

Calling out for me

I long to go

Far away.
