A contemporary take on the history of landscape painting.

Kelie Bowman grew up in Clearwater, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in photography, performance, and video. Bowman traveled with a circus troupe called the Cloud Seeding Circus of the Performative Object and lead bike tours in Germany before moving to New York City. Her home in New York burned down in 2004 on the same night that she and fellow artist Sto decided to found an art gallery. More than nine years later, the Cinders Gallery is now a thriving non-profit organization. Bowman now lives and works in Florida, where she is a co-director of the F.L.A. Gallery in Gainesville and makes music in the bi-coastal band Light Hits. She has artwork in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art and the New York Public Library.
