This current manifestation of this box set includes five zines created by artist Keg de Souza. A mix of storytelling, play, and documentation, Souza’s work addresses the meeting of cultures. Contrasting her own Australian background with that of the various countries to which she travels, Souza shares the knowledge she gains as well as her misadventures.

Horn OK Please, 2015, 5.75 x 4 in, Traveling through Delhi and Goa, de Souza takes note of incongruous restaurant names, wildlife, and the prevalence of the de Souza name on local mailboxes. Edition of 150. Stab binding with risograph prints.

Mie Ayam, I Am Me, 2015, 5.75 x 4 in, Taking its title from a ‘self-reflective Indonesian diner,’ this zine continues de Souza’s irreverent documentation of her travels through Indonesia with her friend Lucas. Edition of 100. Stab binding with risograph prints.

Temporary Spaces, Edible Places: London, 2015, 8.255in x 5.75 in, In April-June of 2014, Souza took part in Temporality in Architecture, Food and Communities, while in residence at the Delfina Foundation’s Public Domain program. During her time in London, de Souza organized picnics in an inflatable structure to foster a dialogue with others inter- ested in exploring the political intersections of food and space. Printed digitally in an edition of 300.

Temporary Spaces, Edible Places: Isle of Skye, Scotland, 2014, 8.255in x 5.75 in, In May through June of 2014, Keg de Souza collaborated with the students at Kilmur Primary in the Isle of Skye, Scotland, for a residency with Atlas Arts. For this project, de Souza organized workshops and picnics in an inflatable structure to engage with the students and learn about local food production. Printed offset in an edition of 300.

Homage or Indignity? 2015, 5.75 x 4 in, In this zine, Keg de Souza’s signature illustrations complement a series of quips and pieces of advice proffered by her traveling companions. In addition, de Souza describes a trip to the Isle of Skye.  Edition of 150. Stab binding with risograph prints.

Life’s Pretty Straight Without… Visiting Malta with her friend Lucas, of Maltese descent, Souza travels the country exploring its beaches and natural pools while eating traditional pastizzi and off-brand Twisties. Their travels continue to Metz, France. Edition of 104. 2014. Stab binding with riso stencil press.

Ayahuasca-ing To Go To Ecuador, Then I Did recounts Souza’s time traveling through Ecuador. Stories of New Year’s traditions, tyrant monkeys, and poorly named restaurants are paired with descriptions of the countries beautiful geography. Edition of 100. 2014. Stab binding with letterpress and riso stencil press.

Waiting for Gado continues the telling of Keg de Souza’s time in Indonesia, specifically its capital, Jakarta. Her memories accentuate her being a foreigner in the country as she recalls seeing stores selling skin whitening cream, a rain doctor with a money-back guarantee, and donuts of the cheese and durian flavoured variety. Edition of 100. 2014. Stab-hole binding with riso stencil press.

Flat Things In 3D is an activity zine with 13 cyan anaglyph drawings accompanied by  3D glasses. The simple line drawings showcase both typical images found in children’s activity books, such as a treasure chest,  but also reflect Souza’s travels, depicting a map and a detailed portrait. Edition of 50. 2010. Loose pages with offset print risograph.
