Possibly one of the last two available ‘transparent’ books of brilliant and beloved Karuk artist Brian D. Tripp who left Turtle Island in 2022. Filled with Tripp’s intimate writing about the trauma of colonialism, the steadfast resistance to colonialism externally, and the constant struggle against internalized limitations imposed by the imperialism of the USA.

I Didn’t Come Here Across Some Land Bridge uses two of Tripp’s most loved materials, onion skin papers and Plexiglass, to construct an epic poem on various sized papers that produce a rich palimpsest of texts and drawings that reform themselves with every page turn.
