I Didn’t Come Here Across Some Land Bridge uses two of Tripp’s most loved materials, onion skin papers and plexiglass, to construct an epic poem on various sized papers that produce a rich palimpsest of texts and drawings that reorganize themselves with every page turn. Tripp’s intimate poetry illuminates the steadfast Karuk creative resistance to the historical and ongoing traumas of USAmerican colonialism.
