Over ten years in the making, this apocryphal and encyclopedic Organik book collages wax rubbings from Belize, California, Denmark, New York, and Norway into an epic poetry concrete of image, symbol, and text, which is sealed in Organik’s trademark turmeric pigment. Many of the literary quotes are extracted from the series of “Library Walk” bronze plaques created by appropriation artist Gregg LeFevre and leading to the New York Public Library on 42nd Street.
With text samples from: Marcus Aurelius, Samuel Beckett, Jorge Luis Borges, Albert Camus, Lucille Clifton, René Descartes, Emily Dickinson, Bohumil Hrabal, John Ruskin, Gertrude Stein, William Butler Yeats
A seminal artists’ book by the Organik art group, “Harmony captures the incandescence of sunlight to illuminate the brilliance of humanity’s most glorious accomplishments, the depths of its atrocities, and frames them all in the ephemeral mortality of all life across the ages.” — Karin Eliot
“Everything is only for a day, both that which remembers and that which is remembered…”
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
