Urgent and impassioned, From the River to DC explores the historical and contemporary echoes between the settlement of the United States and Israel’s apartheid practices against the people of Palestine. With a spotlight on the singular relationship between Israel and the World’s Most Lethal Military Force, it focuses not just on the current phase of Israel’s operations within Palestine, but its long colonial project, enabled by “The West”.
This book is emphatically NOT war porn. Depictions of the dead and dying are tragically easy to find. Instead, abstraction, pattern work, and intentional, symbolic use of color contrast with figurative narration on an oversized page. It requires a slow inspection of the myriad ways we render grief itself abstract through the fatiguing lens of social media and a 24-hour news cycle in a time of grave injustice.
