A wonderful amalgamation of street art attitudes and aesthetics, Cuba’s Wild Style graffiti calligraphy swirls through Scott William’s stencil cut and airbrushed cosmic urban landscapes presenting an aesthetic palette literally never seen before on this planet.
These are amazingly beautiful examples of urban art, and valuable primary research materials for calligraphy, type design, urban studies, art history and visual art. This is an extremely rare collaboration between Cuba and Williams.
Cuba is one of the Godfathers of the San Francisco Mission School, supplying both the aesthetic styles and the radical leftist politics that formed what may be the only coherent new school of American art since the Punk/graf rock art scene of the 1980s.
Scott Williams is a revered stencil cutting and airbrushing master. In the 1970s Williams started out in the streets of San Francisco doing huge stenciled murals. He has been awarded the prestigious Adeline Kent Award from the San Francisco Art Institute and his paintings and books are collected throughout the world.
