ALL TOGETHER NOW, a fundraiser care package to support Booklyn Artists, 2020. Edition Size: 10

Suggested donation: $150
(sliding scale options starting at $100)

ALL TOGETHER NOW is an uplifting and inspiring care package that directly benefits Booklyn artists. All materials inside are both timely and contemplative. They ask us to reconsider what “business as usual” will mean in our near future. Will we move more towards mutual aid projects, cooperatively-owned businesses, collectivized labor, or other mutually supportive modalities? Will competition for resources be seen primarily as something that harms and divides us? Will we wear masks now and for always?

We love Booklyn Artists! The regular income we provide is a critical resource, and we are doing everything we can to continue to provide this. 100% of sales go directly to regular monthly payments to Booklyn artists while our business is on pause.

Our amazing friends at Radix Media, Interference Archive, Temporary Services, and Justseeds are joining us in this effort by creating the ALL IN THIS TOGETHER fundraiser care package. Included are three books, one poster, one face mask*, and one seed paper. You can send this as a care package to loved ones in quarantine, or to yourself. We can safely ship within 48 hours.

Here are the details:

We Are All Things (Radix Media, 2020; 48 pages, 5.5in x 8.5in, soft-cover, saddle-stitched) is a poetic collaboration between Elliott Colla and Ganzeer. It meditates on the solitude in one’s own apartment, the longing nature of existence, the mystery of feeling, and household objects. A relatable read for all of us in quarantine.

We Are All In This Together (Interference Archive, 2018; 48 pages, full color; 8in x 10in) is a survey of 10 years of Justseeds member production in solidarity with social movements. It includes themes like Anti-war, Gender Justice and Migration, and illustrates the role artists can play in grassroots organizing.

Against Competition (Temporary Services, 2014(1st)/2016(2nd)/2017(3rd); 16 pages, three-color Risograph; 5.5in x 8.5in, soft-cover, saddle-stitched) is an essay by Marc Fischer that takes on the pervasive and corrosive problem of competition that exists and is created between artists by a market-driven art system. Gorgeous illustrations by the highly talented collaborator Kione Kochi accompany the essay.

You Belong Here (Monica Johnson & Asa Michigan, 2019; four-color Risograph print; 11in x 17in) is a collaboration between Booklyn’s Director and her 3-year-old son. It was originally created as a welcome sign for visitors to Interference Archive in Brooklyn, NY, and has become a favorite reminder to care for ourselves during times of chaos.

Healthcare For All (Booklyn Staff, 2020; cotton mask* with linocut print; 6in x 7in) Over 300 (and counting!) of these masks have been made and distributed by Booklyn staff throughout NYC during the COVID crisis. These have gone to mutual aid groups, ER nurses at public hospitals (worn on top of N95 masks to extend use), essential workers at grocery stores, etc., and those most vulnerable to the virus. A limited-edition of printed masks have been created to fundraise for Booklyn. A printed mask pattern is included.

Plant Me (Jan Descartes, 2020; 4in x 6in) is handmade from paper mulberry trees, and the text is stamped using pokeberry ink, all harvested, processed and created in Brooklyn, NY by the artist. The seeds embedded in the paper will vary and include Basil, Rosemary, Carrot, Southern Giant Curled Mustard, and Bachelor’s Button. Plant this paper and watch it grow!

WE OFFER FREE SHIPPING FOR THIS SPECIAL FUNDRAISER.

*Please note that while the face mask included can be used as a protective shield, we are not selling these masks as critically-needed PPE. If you are in need of a face mask, please email us at [email protected] and we will try to connect you with someone making these as mutual aid.
