A Week of Jewels is about a minor event – a missing ring – that signifies loss. The translucency and the reflectiveness of mica serve as metaphors for memory and its loss; the palladium leaf for the preciousness of the jewel; and the varying opaque and translucent papers for the story.
Dobbin Mill papers with palladium leaf (Judith Trezza), archival inkjet printing, embedded mica. Text by artist on translucent abaca papers alternate with mica embedded opaque sheets. 11.5″ x 13.” Edition of 10. 2008.
