A MOUTHFUL OF RAIN is about power dynamics within language and translation, and religion’s role in expediting erasure of the lesser power. It is about acculturation into America from Korea, seeing and being seen by ancestors outside of languages that can simultaneously inhibit and inform. It is bound as a physical dichotomy of two opposing forces, and tries to point to the reclamation of past by surrendering to the complexities of the present.
