Prints, Posters & Zines
Friday, February 23, 7-10 pm
FRIDAY will showcase the work of two local artist organizations: Deadass Tho NYC & Irrelevant Press. Prints & zines by Magda Boreysza, Kate LaCour, Anya Davidson, Damara Kaminecki, Ricardo Parker, Carmen Pizarro, CJ Ruiz, Scott Young & more.
Deadass Tho NYC is an artist collective started by a close group of artists who are Bronx natives. The group’s name is an homage to the city’s vast underground artist community that spans beyond the contemporary art canon.
Irrelevant Press is a zine collective started in Oakland, CA with the intention of fostering creative friendship and supporting community members interested in self-publishing their work. The small group has now gone bi-coastal, finding a second home in Brooklyn, NY and is interested in the internet, human connection and popular culture – especially through projects that delve into seemingly unclassifiable realms.
