Maria Veronica San Martin: Moving Memorials in DC9.08.16
Booklyn is pleased to present Maria Veronica San Martin’s exhibition & presentation, Moving Memorials, which will open Thursday, September 29th at the Embassy of Chile in Washington, DC. The exhibition was organized in partnership with Booklyn and with the Embassy of Chile.
Moving Memorials brings together the recent work of the Chilean artist. San Martin’s limited edition artists’ books, large-format prints, and sculptures explore the history of human rights in her home country, drawing parallels between the printing process itself and the effects of dictatorship on Chilean citizens.
There will be an artist talk Friday, November 18th at 12pm. Please join artist Maria Veronica San Martin for a conversation on art, politics, and process with Roberto Brodsky, Cultural Attache; Kerry McAleer-Keeler, Professor of Art and Design at the Corcoran School, GW University; Florencia San Martin, art historian; and Eduardo Rojas, architect and urban planner.
