Currently offered group classes
Booklyn offers group rates for bookbinding and printmaking workshops. Let us create a private workshop for your group! Classes can be adjusted for students of any experience level; no previous experience is required. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details and scheduling.
ANALOG SCREEN PRINTING
This workshop explores the fundamentals of analog screen-printing without the aid of computer or photosensitive materials. Students will learn the basic tools and materials required for screen-printing, and will create an editioned print of their own.
COPTIC BOOK BINDING
This class will cover basic materials and techniques for making hardbound books with exposed/sewn bindings, with a focus on Coptic binding. In Coptic binding the covers are sewn in conjunction with the pages. The entire book is sewn together only using one piece of thread, which creates a beautiful continuous loop pattern across the pages. Each student will leave with one completed book and one instruction sheet.
INTRO TO STAB BINDING
This class will cover basic materials and techniques of Japanese Stab Binding. Stab binding is one of the earliest binding techniques. It is also a great method for students and beginners, because artwork for the pages of the book can be created in advance as separate sheets. Each student will leave with one completed book and one instruction sheet.
