Booklyn + Justseeds at Bucknell12.05.13
Marshall Weber of Booklyn and Justseeds member Shaun Silfer visited Bucknell University for two days filled with lectures, critiques and workshops.
Silfer and Weber provided Professor David Kristjanson-Gural’s Social Justice class with artist books, ephemera and portfolios pertinent to their dialog and 60 students discussed the Librarians Archivists to Palestine Zine and were asked to present self-selected prints from the Occuprint Portfolio.
Professor Joe Meiser’s Drawing I class of 30 students was presented with various printed ephemera from the Marshall Weber Culture Wars Archive including posters, stickers, business cards, and coupons that were specifically designed for social and site specific interventions.
Silfer and Weber also gave a combination lecture and critique to 12 students of Professor Rosalyn Richards’ class Printmaking as a Social Commentary. The students were provided with specific contextualized feedback on their work within the recent history of printmaking, social commentary and activism. Silfer and Weber also presented various artists books and portfolios such as Sustainable Aesthetics by Dana Dana Dana Ltd. Editions and Ten Years of Uzbekistan by Ken Campbell.
